International volunteering is a choice that changes things. It changes the way one looks at the world, understands the complexity of development, builds one's sense of responsibility toward others. At MSP we know this well: for over 55 years, our projects have also relied on the contribution of people who have chosen to put their time, skills and energy at the service of distant communities.
What it means to volunteer with MSP
In our areas of intervention — Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana, Indonesia, Cape Verde — international volunteers are not visitors. They are part of local teams, work side by side with partner organizations, and contribute concretely to ongoing projects. This requires humility, willingness to learn and deep respect for local cultures.
The most sought-after profiles depend on active projects: agronomists, educators, vocational training experts, health workers, civil engineering professionals, communicators. But technical competence alone is not enough: we look for people with strong motivation, adaptability and a team-oriented approach.
How to get started
The first step is to contact us. You can write to movpace@msptorino.org indicating your skills, your time availability and the geographic and thematic contexts that interest you most. Our staff will assess open opportunities and respond to understand together whether there is a match with current needs.
There is no standard pathway: each volunteering experience is built based on the project, the available duration and the volunteer's profile. What does not change is the support: you will not leave alone, and you will not be left alone in the field.
A choice that leaves a mark
Those who have left with us often say the same thing: what they thought would be a professional experience became something deeper. Not because someone was "saved" — this is a narrative we reject — but because they realized how much one learns when working truly with communities, not simply for them.
